Chronology of cameras Asahi Bussan
The Olympic cameras were distributed by Asahi Bussan (which may also have been the manufacturer) from 1934 until its acquisition in 1937 by Riken Kankõshi.
The initial models featured the AB logo on the shutter trim. Following its acquisition, Riken renamed the factory to Asahi Kõgaku Kõgyõ. In subsequently manufactured models, the logo was changed to AKK.
Some references mention Asahi Optical Works, but it appears that Optical Works is a translation of Kõgaku Kõgyõ.
Asahi Bussan also produced folding cameras under the name Adler.
All these Asahi cameras are unrelated to Asahi Pentax.
